Biography
Born overseas to multicultural parents, Christina Rodriguez
grew up as an "Air Force brat," moving from place to place.
Christina loved to draw and paint, and wherever she lived, she excelled
in her art classes. She was awarded several generous scholarships
to the Rhode Island School of Design where she earned a fine arts
degree in Illustration.
Currently, Christina works as a freelance
illustrator for many clients nationwide. Reviewers have described
her painting style as bold, vibrant, full of detail, and highlighted
with an old-fashioned sense of realism. In addition to illustrating
children's books and magazines, Christina dabbles in graphic design,
creating items such as note cards for nature centers, logos, and
wedding invitation ensembles.

In her spare time, Christina enjoys
cooking authentic Mexican cuisine, volunteering as Illustrator Coordinator
with the Minnesota chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers
and Illustrators, hula-hooping, and hiking along the St. Croix River.
She lives with her husband and their dog in a renovated 19th-century
church in the birthplace of Minnesota.
