Biography
Carrie Hartman received her BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. Her freelance illustration work includes book illustration, editorial work, character designs for a nationally animated commercial, greeting cards, advertising, animation projects, paper designs and murals. She has illustrated 15 books since 2004, one of which she authored. She is currently working on writing several books for other publishers in addition to being contracted to illustrate several more books.

Her work has received multiple awards from the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators, the top award in 2006 for, "My Mouth Is A Volcano", the best illustrated children's book for the educational industry by the Association of Educational Publishers, awards from Portfolios.com and nominated as a finalist for an Educational Press Association Award.

Her illustrations have appeared in New York Magazine, Midwest Living, Threads, Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine, New York Dog Magazine, Hartford Courant, Star Tribune and Baltimore Sun. Some of her clients include HGTV, American Greetings, Office Depot, ING, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Nature Made, Multnomah Publishers, Encyclopedia Britannica, CTC Publishing, and the Minnesota State Fair.
